  degrees in western Nevada and 80s in Sierra valleys.

  Tuesday, especially near the Sierra and into western Nevada.

.DISCUSSION...

Strong high pressure remains in place through Saturday, supporting
a stretch of hot and dry conditions across the region. Western
Nevada valleys are forecast to reach widespread 90s, with some
locations approaching 100 degrees. Sierra valleys will warm into
the 80s to near 90 degrees. At Reno, there is a 70% chance of
tying or breaking the record high of 98 degrees Saturday.

This level of heat, combined with limited overnight relief, will
contribute to moderate HeatRisk, particularly for urban areas and
those working or recreating outdoors. Heat impacts will be most
pronounced during the afternoon hours. Hydration, sun protection,
and limiting peak heat exposure will be key to reducing risk. In
addition, swift, cold waterways will remain hazardous due to
ongoing snow melt runoff. Overnight lows will remain unusually
warm Friday and Saturday, especially in western Nevada where
temperatures will stay in the 60s and even near 70s in some Basin
and Range locations.

A pattern shift begins Sunday as the ridge breaks down and an
upper level low drops south into the region. This will bring a
notable cool down, with temperatures dropping 10-20 degrees by
early next week, returning to near seasonal averages. At the same
time, southwest will increase Sunday into Monday, with ensembles
supporting gusts near 30-35 mph across the Sierra Front and Basin
and Range. Moisture and instability will also increase, with
isolated thunderstorms possible Sunday, and scattered storms
possible Monday and Tuesday.

.AVIATION...

VFR conditions continue through Saturday. High density altitude
remains a concern due to widespread hot temperatures through
Saturday. Southwest winds increase Sunday into Monday with gusts
up to 25-30 kts, especially near the Sierra and across western
Nevada terminals. Clouds will increase Sunday, with isolated TSRA
possible by late day, becoming more widespread Monday and Tuesday.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Hot and dry conditions persist through Saturday with relative
humidity in the teens to single digits. Poor overnight humidity
recoveries continue for mid-slope and valley locations. Winds
increase Sunday, with ensembles showing gusts 30-35 mph. These
winds, combined with dry fuels, will bring periods of elevated to
near-critical fire weather conditions, especially for western
Nevada on Sunday. Isolated thunderstorms may develop Saturday
initially dry, with increasing storm coverage potential Monday
into Tuesday.
